  dusty hull  ZZ musican band blues/ rock n roll Blues rock group ZZ Top announced the death of one of its main members, bassist Dusty Hill, known for his long blonde beard and who had been with the band since its beginnings in 1970, at the age of 72. Hill has been a longtime member of the Texas blues rock band for over 50 years. The other two members of the band, drummer Frank Bird and vocalist and guitarist Billy Gibbons, wrote on the band's website:  "We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston,".
