Pantheon, Amc animated Tv series
AMC+’s original animated series Pantheon caught my initial attention thanks to that unique animation style from this dark sci-fi series and that intriguing, Black Mirror-inspired premise.
All in all, this feels like one of those special, intimate projects that may just fly under the radar, possibly accruing a cult following in the process.
The show utilizes that ensemble cast proficiently, with many subplots interconnecting throughout the first half of its eight-episode run (only four installments were made available ahead of its premiere). We’re first introduced to a bullied schoolgirl named Maddie, who is grieving her father’s recent death. An unusual hacker, who only speaks in emojis, reaches out to her and helps the girl fight these stereotypical bullies.
As the story unfolds, this unknown sender reveals personal information that indicates that Maddie might actually be talking to her dead Father after all. She believes that the company her father, David (Daniel Dae Kim), was working for, called Logorhythms, are behind this unusual crime and might be holding him hostage.
The second adjoining narrative focuses on Caspian (Paul Dano), a highly intelligent computer expert who notices a material skeptic in an online chat room. Caspian is clearly a unique individual and he is surrounded by all this chaos more than you think, with Logorhythms following his every move. The outcast maniac lives with his controversial parents, who are also embroiled in this miserable mess, and their antics call further suspicion.
A third story reveals the harrowing truths of this mysterious and technologically advanced world as an engineer named Chanda finds himself in a somewhat terrifying predicament. Chanda is strapped to the operating chair and shoots laser beams at his head. The laser peels off his brain until there is nothing left. The action transmits his consciousness to the cloud. It's a gory, painfully gruesome spectacle reminiscent of Charlie Brooker's quirky black mirror works.
Although the story of the work seems somewhat empty to one, it is very real. For many years, the world has witnessed technological developments, regardless of their usefulness, but they are terrifying developments.
Businessman and expert in the field of computer technologies, Dmitry Itskov, announced his intention to perpetuate the human brain. And that by downloading what his mind contains to the computer. In this state, man will remain alive even after he is freed from the bondage of the body.
"The ultimate goal of my plan is to transfer a character into a new body," Itskov said, noting that this task is very complex. But it can be achieved.
Itskov put forward the "Initiative-2045" project, which brings together experts in the field of neuroscience, human brain biology, robotics and psychology who study the potential of human consciousness. In order to design a robot that can transfer the character of a human being.
Scientists believe that the robot can accommodate human feelings and thoughts, knowing that the human brain and the computer perform the same functions. As for the digital copy of the human brain, it will be uploaded to a special robot that will be made in the form of a human.
Thus, Amc Tv series simulates a real technology witnessed by the human world, which may take another turn in the coming years.
