Matt Reeves released Barry Keoghan’s Joker deleted scene !

“The Batman” director Matt Reeves released a deleted scene  featuring Robert Pattinson against the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan.

The five-minute scene sees Robert Pattinson’s Batman, in desperate need of help in catching Paul Dano’s Riddler, going to visit the Joker played by Barry Keoghan in Arkham.

Not only does it give us a better look at the full Joker design (which was deleted in the final cut of The Batman), but we discover that their fateful meeting comes on the first anniversary of the first time Batman and Joker fought.

Reeves, liked the idea of suggesting to the audience that Gotham is rife with villains just on the edge of the story, and that Keoghan’s Joker is one of the first enemies Batman captures. as he said earlier this month in interview with Variety,:" i thought he would be really insecure about this and he’d probably want to find some way to get into the [Riddler’s] mindset, like in ‘Manhunter’ or ‘Mindhunter’ this idea of profiling somebody, so you can predict his next move".

Reeves went far more in depth into why he ultimately deleted this scene but kept a follow-up scene a the end of “The Batman” in which Joker and Riddler connect in adjacent cells in the Arkham State Hospital, and how he developed the Joker’s look with Keoghan and makeup artist Michael Marino.

according to the deleted scene, estimated at five minutes. The deletion of the scene is not due to the length of the film, which was more than 3 hours, but rather that the character of the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan, would have covered somewhat about the performance of  Colin Farrell in the role of the Penguin.

Barry Keoghan's another incarnation of the joker!

“I never was trying to say like, ‘Hey, guess what, here’s the Joker. Next movie!'” Reeves said. “That was never the idea. The idea was more to say, ‘Hey, look, you know what? If you think that trouble is going to go away in Gotham, you can forget it. It’s already brewing. It’s already here. And it’s already delicious!.'”

Matt Reeves changed from the usual Joker stereotype that the audience had seen before (green hair / cuts on the mouth / clown makeup...)ة He gave the Joker the ultimate dark character and the depicted form in the scariest possible way, and this is exactly what reflects Gothan City in Reeves' story.

Barry Keoghan was very happy with his performance, he posted on his twitter account: "Honestly, I am stuck for words but I am very very BLESSED to play this role after the AMAZING AMAZING Actors before me. Here’s my version.Enjoy "
