James Bond returns to save the world...and cinema !

James bond 2021, Daniel craig, No time to die 2021

The latest James Bond film, "No Time to Die," will be released in London on Tuesday after being delayed for several months due to the Covid-19 pandemic... This time, 007's mission is to save not only the world, but also cinemas that have been depleted by long closures.

According to the promotional announcement, the 53-year-old British actor's fifth and final film in the series is full of chase races, explosions, and a firefight, promising fans of the series a film that is no less thrilling and exciting than the previous cinematic missions of the world's most famous secret agent.

The world premiere of the two-hour and 43-minute film will be staged on Tuesday at London's famed "Royal Albert Hall," after a year and a half delay due to the pandemic, before it is distributed in British cinemas on Thursday.

Producers Michael J. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli joined director Cary Joji Fukunaga (“Bests of No Nation” and “True Detective”), actors Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, and Billie Eilish on the red carpet to perform “No Time to Die,” the film's official song.

In addition to these celebrities, Princes Charles and William, as well as members of the medical staff who were invited to see the film in the historic hall in recognition of their efforts during the pandemic, will be in attendance.

Who will take Craig's place?

The previous James Bond movie "Spectre", which was released in theaters at the end of 2015, achieved revenues of more than 880 million dollars in the world, according to the specialized press.
That same year, Daniel Craig said he'd rather "cut his arteries" than play James Bond again.
But who will carry the torch to succeed Craig? The answer to this question remains a mystery, but producer Barbara Broccoli considered that the role should remain entrusted to a man, which is a divisive topic.
"Women are terribly underrepresented" in cinema, said Alanna McGill, a philosophy student met by AFP on the streets of London.
Derek Domson, a 62-year-old postman, said James Bond "cannot be played by a woman. This is a role that has great symbolism and has very masculine traits.”
To respond to criticism of sexism in some Bond films, actress and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge was hired to improve the representation of women in the film.

In this film, the secret agent created by writer Ian Fleming quits his intelligence business and takes a well-deserved vacation in Jamaica. But this peace will be violated by the arrival of his old friend in the "CIA" Felix Leiter, who comes to him for help in saving a scientist who has been kidnapped.
On his return to work, Agent 007 is forced to team up with a new female colleague played by British Lashana Lynch, who warns him from the start, "If you stand in my way, I'll shoot you in the knee."
Bond and his new colleague face a mysterious enemy equipped with the latest advanced weapons, played by the American actor of Egyptian origin, Rami Malek, who won the Oscar for Best Actor in 2019 for his portrayal of singer Freddie Mercury.

A few days ago, the British Royal Navy awarded the hero of the "James Bond" films, the British actor, Daniel Craig, the rank of honorary captain in service, the same rank held by the fictitious secret agent "007".
Unusually, two different generations of British royals attended the film's special screening of Craig's farewell to the role of James Bond.
Crown Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, were joined by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and his wife, Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, at the Royal Albert Hall.
Actress Naomi Harris, who plays Moneypenny for the third time, said it was a particularly "emotional night" because it was Craig's last appearance as Bond.
Advance ticket sales in Britain have reached levels not seen in the industry since before cinemas closed at the start of the pandemic, according to theaters Odeon and Sinworld.

Odeon said it had sold more than 175,000 tickets by Monday, while Sinworld said it had the highest pre-booking prices since 2019's Avengers: Endgame.
The film was also pre-rated by critics on the Rotten Tomatoes platform, with a rating of 97%.
