LONDON: British pop star Elton John announced the release of a new album next month, entitled “The Lockdown Sessions”, which he prepared during the quarantine period in cooperation with a constellation of stars.
The album, due to be released on October 22, includes 16 songs, including 10 new songs, some of which are collaborations with artists such as Dua Lipa, Gorillas, Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Stevie Wonder and Stevie Nicks.
Sir Elton John said: "The last thing I was expected to do during the confinement measures was to make an album. But with the spread of the epidemic, sporadic projects began to take shape.”he explained, "Some of the recording sessions were conducted remotely via +Zoom +, which is something I was not familiar with before, while other sessions were held, taking into account strict safety rules during cooperation with another artist with glass facades separating us."
The owner of “Your Sang” and “Candle in the Wind” admitted that “all the pieces I worked on were really interesting and varied, and they are different things from what I used to do and was famous.” Elton John will tour Europe and North America in 2022.
The 74-year-old Elton john singer, launched his final tour, "Fairwell Yellow Brick Road" in 2018, to include more than 300 stations within three years around the world before he had to cut it due to the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic.
The tour will start in May 2022 from Frankfurt in Germany and end six months later in Los Angeles, after crossing Europe (Milan, Paris and Liverpool in particular) to North America.
Elton john won an Oscar once and a Grammy award five times. The British Association to Support the Palestinian Academy sent a letter to Elton John calling on him to cancel his concert in Tel Aviv, Israel, in protest of the Gaza war.
The famous British singer Elton John expressed, in his own way, his solidarity with the Palestinian people, during the opening ceremony of the "Wold of Hotel" built by his friend, the British painter "Ghost" Bansky.
After singing at the hotel's opening ceremony, Elton John said, via a recorded message to the audience, "I wish I was with you tonight, but as you know there was no room in the hotel (jokingly)." He added, "It gives me great pleasure to sing in Palestine this evening... and please know that you are not alone in this world... and that you are not forgotten."
The hotel is located directly in front of the wall, giving the guest something more than luxury and sophistication. Rather, it is a museum, an exhibition of paintings and a protest, all of this is available in one place, and Bansky put all the frescoes by which he was known.
And the British newspaper, "The Guardian", had mentioned in a previous report about the hotel, "in which the guest only sees the apartheid wall that Israel erected on the lands of the Palestinians, bearing the fingerprints of the British mural artist Bansky."
