August 2021 holds many surprises for cinema lovers. here is the top 5 upcoming movies and their release dates. this list is entirely dependent on advertisements from producers/production houses, therefore, release dates may vary between cinemas and availability on websites.
1- The Suicide Squad 2021
Perhaps the most awaited movie by the audience is the second part of the Suicide Squad movie, not a reboot or sequel to the 2016 movie "Suicide Squad," but rather a second draft.
After one botched attempt to bring The Suicide Squad to the big screen, with the dourly competent David Ayer at the helm, this time DC Comics stumbled upon a more successful formula. a director with a taste for anarchy, who crawled out of the same toxic sewer sludge as most of the characters.
A long line of eccentric assassins, supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X, and march toward a military plane in slow motion and wait to be shot down on the beach of a fictional Central American country called Corto Maltese (an evocatively poignant role split between Panama and Pinewood Studios). they don't know why they are going there really ! and some won't live long enough to know it, the seat of the Class C comic book characters that Gunn has collected here is so deep that his movie can blast half of them to bits without missing a beat.
Warner Bros. will release “The Suicide Squad” in theaters and on HBO Max on Friday, August 6.
2- Don't Breathe 2
Dont Breathe 2 will be released in theaters on August 13
3- Free Guy
The latest movie by comedian Ryan Reynolds, comedy, thriller. Science fiction movie directed by Shawn Levy. With Jodie Comer Starring Ryan Reynolds with Jodie Comer....
the story about a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way before it is too late.
Free Guy will be released on August 11
4- Candyman
A spiritual sequel to Candyman 1992, directed by Nia DaCosta. a screenplay by by Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld and DaCosta. starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Colman Domingo
When Candyman first released back in 1992, Hollywood was not yet rushing to pump out horror stories that turned the brutal realities of American racist history into cinematic nightmares the way it is today. But the movie’s explanation of the Candyman’s origins incorporates elements of the monstrous, anti-Black bigotry that was present at the country’s founding and shaped the way race and class function in our society.Helen’s naivete about the Candyman’s origins, her connection to him, and how people unlike herself have been navigating the world differently ultimately become the most fascinating parts of Candyman’s plot, which turns into more of a psychological thriller in the final act. Watching Candyman now, you can see why Universal’s keen to revisit this world with DaCosta’s upcoming sequel. In a post-Get Out world, the next film’s themes are likely to hit harder and have a more chilling effect for audiences, and the same is true of the original, which is more than worth a rewatch.
