British media reported on Thursday that several people were killed in a shooting in Plymouth, southwest England


A shocking accident in Britain. Six people were killed in Plymouth, southwest England, on Thursday evening.
Plymouth is located in the southwest of Britain, and has a large naval base, about 5 hours from the capital, London.

Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement that three males, including the suspect, and two females died from gunshot wounds to the scene. Another female died shortly afterwards in hospital.
Police described the incident earlier as a "serious shooting incident" and said the situation had been contained.



The UK has one of the lowest rates of gun murders in the world, and mass shootings are rare.
The police stated that investigations are continuing into the incident, Police said earlier that the shooting in the Plymouth area was not a terrorist attack, and that the suspected killer had died in a shootout with police.

Security teams and ambulances were seen at the scene of the bloody accident. Johnny Mercer, Member of Parliament for Plymouth, Moore View, confirmed on Twitter that the incident had nothing to do with terrorism.
Labor lawmaker Johnny Mercer said on Twitter: "The incident has nothing to do with terrorism and the fugitive suspect is not in Plymouth."
he added, "Please comply with all police instructions and not spread rumors and speculation on social media."
The Southwest Ambulance Service said response teams (HART), ambulances, several doctors and paramedics have arrived at the scene at 6.12pm.
Home Secretary Priti Patel wrote on Twitter: "The incident in Plymouth is shocking. I have spoken to the Chief of Police and given my full support, I urge everyone to remain calm, follow the instructions of the police and allow the emergency services to continue their duties." 

According to Reuters, British police said on Friday that Jake Davison was the man who shot and killed five people, including a young girl, in the city of Plymouth before killing himself, possibly with an "automatic rifle".



Devon and Cornwall Police Chief Constable Sean Sawyer said Jake Davison, 22 years old, killed a very young girl and one of her relatives, and it was confirmed that Davison had a gun license.
"There is no motive as we know at present," Sawyer said, but he assured that the investigation would take its course.
